Non-Combustible Insulation

Mineral Wool Insulation

Stone mineral wool — non-combustible A1 class insulation with excellent vapor permeability. Safe, durable, and acoustically effective. Mandatory for buildings over 25 meters high.

What is mineral wool insulation?

Mineral wool (stone wool) insulation is a building thermal modernization system using basalt wool boards as insulation material. Stone mineral wool is made by melting basalt rocks at over 1500 degrees C — making it completely non-combustible and classified as fire reaction class A1.

In the ETICS system, mineral wool is bonded and anchored to external walls, then finished with a reinforcement layer and exterior plaster. A key advantage of wool is its high vapor permeability — it allows walls to "breathe," which is particularly important for older buildings with damp walls.

Polish fire regulations require non-combustible insulation in buildings over 25 m high. Additionally, mineral wool is an excellent acoustic insulator — it reduces external noise much more effectively than polystyrene.
